The Giver

Here is my first English Novel : The Giver by Lois Lowry. It is a young adult dystopian novel which first appears to be utopian but revealed dystopian in the end. In this the society which is described has taken away the 'pain' and 'strife' by converting it to 'Sameness'', a plan that has also eradicted emotional depth from their lives. The parents are the foster parents and no one is related to each other biologically.In this community elsewhere and released means the one is killed.

Content : A 12-year-old boy , name Jonas, lives in a community where everyone from small infants to Chief elder has an assigned role. With the upcoming Ceremony of Twelves ,he is nervous, for there will be life work assigned. Jonas then seeks reassurance from his dad , who is a Nurturer, and his mother ,who is an official at the Department of Justice. Then the day arrives and Jonas with his other classmates are assembled in order according to their birth. Jonas is stunned when his turn passed by and increasingly conspicuous until he is alone. Then The Chief Elder explains that he is not assigned with normal assignment,but instead he has been selected as The Receiver of Memory and to be trained by the current one who is staring at him sitting with the Elders. They both were having unusual pale eyes. Position of Receiver has high status and responsibility because of which Jonas find himself growing distant from his close friends, Asher and Fiona. Not only the position of Receiver  was the reason for his distant from his friends ,but also the rules separate him as he was not allowed to play with his friends and require him to keep his training secret and he was allowed to lie ,which was something that is generally not allowed in the regimented Community. Once his training begin he was the one who bears the burden of past memories from all of history. The current receiver , who asks Jonas to call him The Giver, begin to transferring memories to the one who does not know about the past. His first memory of of sliding down a snow-covered hill on a sled which made him shock by the fact that he has never seen -a sled, or a hill, or a snow - for the memories of even these things has been given up to assure Sameness. Even the colors has been surrendered  so The Giver shows him the memory of Rainbow. He also give memory of hunger,war,alien to Jonas. Hanging over Jonas's training is the fact that the Giver once before had an apprentice,named Rosemary, but the boy find his parents and the Giver reluctant to discuss what happened to her. Jonas father is concerned about an infant, named Gabriel, at nurturing center and has received special permission to bring him home at night.He also have pale eyes like the two of them and Jonas attached to him after he find that he is capable of giving memories. If Gabriel does not increase in strength then he will be "released from the Community "- in common speech, taken Elsewhere. After Jonas casually speculate as to life in elsewhere, the Giver educates him by showing the boy hidden-camera video of Jonas's father doing his job: as two identical community member cannot be allowed, Jonas's father releases smaller of the identical twin by injecting the one with poison. After that Jonas start to consider his father as murderer so he refuses to return home, but the Giver convinces him to return home. Together they both come to an understanding that it is the time to change the community. The only to make it happen was Jonas to leave the community, at which time the memories he has been given will floodback into the people. He wanted Giver to go with him , but Giver insists that he will be needed to manage memories. Then the Giver plot in which Jonas will escape beyond the boundaries of the Community. When Jonas learn that next morning Gabriel will be released and he had no choice  so he escape with the infant.Their escape was fraught danger, and the two were near to death due to starvation and cold. Using his ability to see beyond , he finds a sled on the top of snowy hills. They both ride the sled down towards a house filled with colored light and warmth and love and a Christmas tree, and for the first time he hears something he believes music. This leaves his and Gabriel's future unresolved. 

Review : 4.13 Ratings. Some people call it a mystery, best refutation , easy to understand but whereas some people do not seem it amazing and some people recommend it for the one who want to analyze how not to write science-friction.

Godaan - A novel by Munshi Premchand

Here is my next novel known as Godaan by Munshi Premchand which is also known as The Gift of a Cow.


Content : This story revolves around many characters representing various section of Indian Community . The peasents and rural society by the family of Hori Mahato and the various characters related to him . The story starts from the desire of Hori of having a cow like other poor peasent . So , to fulfill his desire of having a cow , he at the debt of Rs. 80 bought it from Bhola . Hori tried to cheat on his brothers for 10 Rs. which led to a fight between his wife and his younger brother's wife, Heera's wife. Heera poisoned Hori cow ,because of his jealousy towards Hori , and ran away because of fear of police action . Hori took loan and pay bribe to police for inquiring about the death of his cow and was able clear off the name of Bhola. Jhunia ,daughter of Bhola , was widow and eloped with Gobar , son of Hori , after she got pregnant by him . Hori and his wife Dhania were unable to throw a girl carrying their son child and so accepted her daughter-in-law after Gobar ran due to the fear of villagers action. Hori again is compelled to pay penalty by taking loan as his wife tackles personal attack of Pandit  on them for sheltering Jhunia by village Panchayat , eventually married his daughter Rupa off for mere  200 rupees to save his ancestral land being auctioned due to inability to pay tax and loans . His determination to pay 200 rupees and have a cow to provide milk to his grandson , leads to his death due to excessive work. When he was about to die , his wife took all moey had [1.25Rupees] and made Hori pay the priest on the behalh of ( godan ) (cow donation) which fills his traditional dream but his desire to pay 200 rupees back  to his son-in-law and have cow to feed milk to his grandson remain unfulfilled . Hori here is shown as a poor peasent who is the victim of circumstances of common man but despite all he stand by his honesty , duities and judgement when required .



Review : Godaan is mostly rated good but with some persons perspective it was not liked by them.But we should respect each  individuals opinion.

Ramayana : The Epic

So here I am starting with my first book that is a great Epic called Ramayana 

Content : Ramayana is a epic by Rishi Valmiki who narrates the life of Rama through this epic . Rama was the legendary prince of Kosala Kingdom . It was about the fourteen - year exile to forest of Rama with his wife Sita and brother Lakhmana where Rama went due to his father King Dasharatha and request of his step - mother Kaikeyi . In the forest Sita was kidnapped by the great king of Lanka , Ravana which led to war with him and Rama eventual return to Ayodhya with Sita and all the people celebrate the victory of Rama  by lighting diyas and burning crackers which led to the  one of the most prestigious festival known as Diwali . 

Ramayana is one of the most oldest religious epic written in sanskrit in 24,000 verses . It is not a story ; it represent the teaching of ancient sage in narrative .

Book Review : 4.12 stars from 5 stars 
Some people love reading it. People consider it as greatest book ever . People love reading it . Whereas some people feel that it dissatisfaction to itself . So there are many people with different views and perspectives and we should respect each of them .

Blog is something that is truly based on the imagination of a particular individual . Blog does not have a subject it is a place where you can share your experience, feeling and can help others in a great way. Writing  blog does not have  a motive it is the individual's interest . So, in this blog I 'm gonna share about the reviews and the motive of different stories ,  novels e.t.c. This blog may consist of reviews , content and motive of different books , stories or novels but they all are for increasing your vast wisdom of knowledge . In the end I will tell you one thing that when no one is your friend then books are your best friend , so always respect books because their vast wisdom will not make friends but can make you successful . One more thing that blogs are not for a book lover or food lover or anyone else  it is a space where even a old man can work or a kid can also work no matter they are a book lover or food lover or not it is something that depends  on their interests.
